“I have been roasting my own coffee for many years on a smaller scale. I've always liked my coffee better than anything I could buy but Gigawatt has become my favorite. The secret lies in the roasting process where you remove the chaff and don't let it burn to the beans. Great job!”

FAQ
Common Questions
Is dark roast coffee more bitter?
Not when it's roasted right. Bitterness usually comes from over-roasting or stale beans, not from the roast level itself. Our dark roasts are carefully developed to bring out rich, smooth, bold flavors without any burnt or bitter aftertaste. If you've only had bitter dark roast before, you haven't had ours yet.
What is the difference between dark and medium roast?
Dark roasts are roasted longer, which creates bolder, deeper flavors with notes like chocolate, caramel, and toasted nuts. Medium roasts retain more of the bean's original character with brighter, more nuanced flavors. This sampler includes both — so you can taste the difference yourself.
Is dark roast stronger than light roast?
Dark roast tastes bolder, but it actually has slightly less caffeine than light roast. The roasting process burns off a small amount of caffeine. That said, the difference is minimal — so if you want bold flavor AND a solid caffeine kick, dark roast still delivers.
What grind should I choose for a gift?
When in doubt, Whole Bean is always the safest gift. Most serious coffee drinkers prefer to grind fresh. If you know they use a drip machine, choose Drip. For French press lovers, choose French Press. If you're truly unsure, Whole Bean lets them grind it however they like.
How much coffee is in each bag?
Each bag is 10 oz of freshly roasted coffee. You get three bags in this sampler, so that's 30 oz total — enough for roughly 90 cups of coffee, depending on how strong you brew it.
