Half Caff

Half caff coffee, explained

Half caff coffee gives you roughly half the caffeine of a regular cup — without the flat, papery taste that usually comes with cutting back. Ours comes as two 10 oz bags, Kite & Key and our water‑processed decaf, so you set the ratio yourself rather than accepting ours.

What it actually is

Two separate 10 oz bags — Kite & Key, our medium‑dark flagship, and Static Resistor, our water‑processed decaf. You mix them to the strength you want, or drink either one on its own.

Why ours doesn’t taste like decaf

Most decaf tastes hollow because it was scorched to hide what decaffeination took out. Static Resistor is water processed — no chemical solvents — then air roasted, so nothing burns onto the bean.

Who drinks it

Afternoon drinkers who still want a real cup at 3pm, anyone cutting back on caffeine but not on coffee, and households where one person is off caffeine and nobody wants to brew twice.

How much caffeine is in half caff coffee?

Half caff normally means half regular and half decaf, so roughly half the caffeine of the same scoop. Ours is not fixed at half. The two coffees arrive in separate bags, so a scoop of each gets you to about half — and you can go lighter or stronger from there. We do not print a milligram figure: caffeine moves with the bean, the grind, the dose and how long the water sits.

What does half caff mean?

Half caff — also written half caf — means coffee that is part regular and part decaffeinated, brewed exactly like any other coffee. Nothing is watered down and nothing is missing. There is simply less caffeine in the same cup, and the same flavour in it.

Do I have to mix them fifty-fifty?

No, and that is why we send two bags instead of one pre-mixed one. Start with a scoop of each, then shift toward the decaf on the days you want less. Most people find a ratio and stay there. You can also just drink either bag on its own.

What is in the two-pack?

Ten ounces of Kite & Key, our medium-dark flagship, and ten ounces of Static Resistor, our water-processed decaf. Both come in the same grind, so they behave the same way in the same brewer.

Never bitter, never burnt. If it ever is, tell us and we’ll make it right.
