An espresso blend that stays sweet
Our espresso blend is built for a shot that holds through the finish — heavy body, tiger‑skin crema, and none of the ashy bite that usually passes for espresso.
Why espresso usually tastes burnt
Pressure concentrates everything, including the scorched notes a drum roaster leaves on the bean. Air roasting keeps a dark roast dark without turning it acrid.
Pulling it
Start around 18 g in, 36 g out, 25–30 seconds. Sour means grind finer. Harsh means grind coarser before you touch the temperature.
It works outside the portafilter
Holds up in a moka pot, an AeroPress, or as a strong drip. The chocolate and caramel notes survive milk, which is what this blend was built around.
What makes an espresso blend different from other coffee?
An espresso blend is built for pressure. Live Wire pairs four origins so the shot stays sweet through the finish instead of turning sharp, and carries enough body to hold up against milk.
Can you brew an espresso blend as regular coffee?
Yes, and plenty of people do. Ground for drip or a French press it makes a heavy, chocolatey cup. The blend is built for espresso, not restricted to it.
What grind should I order?
Whole bean if you own a grinder, but we offer drip, french press, and pourover grinds as well.
Never bitter, never burnt. If it ever is, tell us and we’ll make it right.
