Two Small Businesses. One Big Flavor.
How Two Producers Became One Chocolate Bar
Two small businesses, one community
Gigawatt Coffee Roasters and Littlejohn's Candies are both independent, small-batch producers who connected through a shared community. When Littlejohn's reached out about creating a coffee chocolate bar together, the answer was easy — let's do it.
100 years of candy meets air-roasted coffee
Littlejohn's has been making chocolate by hand since before your grandparents' grandparents were drinking coffee — from their original spot at the LA Farmers Market to their Sierra Foothills location. We brought the beans, they brought a century of craft. The result? Honduran coffee and handmade chocolate that actually belong together.
Three bars, limited run
This first batch is a small, limited collaboration — a test run to see how much the community loves it. If it goes well, we'll bring it back during cooler months. For now, grab a 3-pack while they last.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
What's included in the Coffee Chocolate Bar Collection?
Each pack includes three 3 oz (86g) chocolate bars: 72% Dark Chocolate with Organic Honduran Coffee, Milk Chocolate with Organic Honduran Coffee, and 72% Dark Chocolate with Organic Honduran Coffee and Cherries. All three are handcrafted by Littlejohn's Candies using air-roasted Gigawatt coffee.
-
Are coffee chocolate bars gluten-free?
Yes — all three bars in the collection are gluten-free. However, they are made in a facility that also processes milk, soybeans, peanuts, and tree nuts. Please review the full ingredient list on each bar if you have specific allergen concerns.
-
What is the return policy for chocolate bars shipped in warm weather?
This is a limited-edition collaboration — due to limited quantities, replacements and refunds are not available for this product. Chocolate is temperature-sensitive, and we ship nationwide with $5 flat rate shipping. We recommend ordering during cooler months for the best experience.
-
Is the Coffee Chocolate Bar Collection a limited edition?
Yes — this is our first limited run. If it goes well, we plan to bring it back during fall and winter when cooler shipping conditions are ideal for chocolate. Sign up for our newsletter to be the first to know when it's back.
-
Who makes the chocolate for Gigawatt's coffee chocolate bars?
Littlejohn's Candies is a family-owned candy maker that's been handcrafting chocolate, toffee, and fine candies since 1924. They're famous for their English toffee and still make everything by hand at their locations in Los Angeles and the Sierra Foothills. Like Gigawatt, they believe in doing things the right way — small batch, no shortcuts.
-
What type of coffee is used in coffee chocolate bars?
Organic Honduran beans, air-roasted by Gigawatt Coffee Roasters. Instead of tumbling in a hot metal drum, the beans float on a cushion of hot air during roasting. The result is a cleaner, smoother coffee flavor that complements chocolate instead of fighting it.
-
How do you store chocolate bars to keep them fresh?
Store your chocolate bars in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Room temperature is fine for short-term storage. If you need to store them longer, a wine fridge or cool closet works well. Avoid the refrigerator — condensation can affect the texture and appearance of the chocolate.
